TeleAdapt has opened its first factory in Hengli, China

Headed by Barry Lo, TeleAdapt's recently appointed Group Operations Director, the new facility is situated a short distance from Chang Ping railway station, which is served by regular fast trains to and from Hong Kong, approximately a two hour journey. Spread over three floors and more than 3000m2 in size, it is expected that the factory will employ 100 staff by the end of this year.

Initially, the factory will commence production and assembly of TeleAdapt's core range of telecomms and broadband products for its OEM and Contract Manufacturing customers, supplying industry-standard parts, with reduced lead times, around the world.

"TeleAdapt's goal is to continue to dominate our market niche by staying ahead of our competitors as the lowest overall cost supplier for fax/modem adapters and cable assemblies", says Anthony Ainsworth, TeleAdapt's Managing Director.

"By opening our own production and assembly facility we are able to drive down our cost base and increase control of product quality and lead times.

At the same time, our new strategic global logistics partner will help reduce the inventory needed in the supply chain and broaden our global reach.

We recognise the need to offer continue improvements to our customers and the ongoing investment in our Far Eastern infrastructure strengthens our commitment to achieving this".

Founded in 1992, as a two-person start-up, TeleAdapt has grown into a global business with an annual turnover in excess of GBP 10 million and is divided into two primary divisions.

The TeleAdapt OEM Division, which specialises in the supply of telephone adapters, cordsets and cables to the world's largest PC, fax, and modem manufacturers, and the End-User Division, known as TMS (TeleAdapt's Mobile Solutions Division).

TMS provides a comprehensive range of connectivity, security and power solutions to national and multi-national companies across all business sectors.

TMS also provides comprehensive support, training and consultancy services to enable 24/7 global access to critical business information and corporate networks.
