The highway code of stencils
Guide offers the electronics industry a comprehensive reference source of how to achieve the best possible printed results from all types of stencils
It applies to those environmental aspects which the organisation has control and over which it can be expected to have an influence.
ISO14001 is often seen as the cornerstone standard of the ISO14000 series.
However, it is not only the most well known, but is the only ISO14000 standard against which it is currently possible to be certified by an external certification authority, in Tecan's case this is the prestigious British Standards Institute (BSI).

'To achieve the accreditation it is necessary to prove that you have established and are committed to maintaining a number of management procedures and initiatives to ensure ongoing conformance with the international ISO14001 guidelines', said Peter Windell, Quality and Environment Manager, Tecan.
'Beyond our established environmental initiatives, this new level of recognition encompasses our close monitoring and management of everything the company consumes - from process chemicals to raw materials, electricity, water, gas, packaging and commodities of all kinds - in every case with a view to the absolute minimisation of usage/wastage and the optimisation of disposal'.
'ISO14001 specifies a framework of control for an environmental management system against which an organisation can be certified and regularly reviewed by a third party'.
'The company also has to ensure compliance with all relevant environmental laws and regulations'.
'We are of course very proud of this achievement'.
Effectively, adoption of the continual improvement system provides for the ongoing improvement of tools and techniques from which ultimately springs the provision of ever better products for customers within the cleanest possible and most efficient environmental management regime, says the company.
Tecan is a world-class precision metal part and tooling manufacturer, offering a 'total' one stop contract manufacturing solution - from technology development, through to rapid prototyping and volume production.
In addition to its core contract manufacturing activities, the company also has three distinct operations that use its process competences.
These are: SMT stencil solutions; radio frequency interference (RFI) shielding solutions; and high-quality metal finishing services, typically for the precision engineering, electronics, aerospace, optical and medical markets.
Tecan will be on Stand B47 in Hall 12 at Nepcon UK 2006.
