Tekdata Interconnections has signed IGG Component Technology to promote its Cryoconnect cable assemblies to its global space industry customer base

Tekdata Interconnections has entered into a sales agreement with IGG Component Technology, under which IGG will promote Tekdata's Cryoconnect cable assemblies to its global space industry customer base. IGG will place particular emphasis on Europe, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, India, Israel and China.

As a leading UK-based wiring systems specialist, Tekdata provides cable harness design, rapid prototyping, manufacture and cabinet and box assembly services to some of the world's largest avionics and defence companies.

Cryoconnect, a specialist division of Tekdata, focuses solely on low-mass miniature cabling and interconnection solutions for cryogenic systems, which are designed to operate to ultra-low temperatures.

Thanks partly to Cryoconnect, Tekdata is one of an exclusive number of companies able to meet NASA's demanding specifications for space-borne interconnection systems.

IGG provides high-reliability electronic, electrical and electromechanical (EEE) components and related services to the space, aerospace and defence industries.

The company's main areas of expertise are testing, evaluation, parts procurement, long-term storage, engineering consultancy, and obsolescence management and mitigation.

The company has carried out numerous projects for the European Space Agency and is a tier-one supplier to Rolls-Royce.

Tekdata Managing Director Ernie Edwards, said: 'IGG has an established reputation for quality and service in the space industry and there is a natural synergy between the two companies'.

'By joining forces, we can increase the penetration of Cryoconnect by providing highly reliable solutions for every cryogenic cabling need, from high volumes to a complex one-off assembly'.

IGG Managing Director Peter Higgs added: 'This is a win-win situation for both companies and, more importantly, for our customers'.

'Cryoconnect is an excellent product range with a proven track record, and we are delighted to be working with Tekdata to promote it around the world'.
