Wireless, battery-free electrical control switches for office, domestic and industrial are the focus for a new webshop set up by Ivory Egg and UK supplier TDC.
Ivory Egg already runs a popular webshop covering European Installation Bus components.
The new site concentrates on EnOcean products.
EnOcean electrical switches and controls are winning growing popularity with their fit-anywhere simplicity.
The action of operating the switch generates enough current to send a radio signal to a light or other appliance.
EnOcean controls can be installed anywhere within a 100m radius of the target unit, be moved at a whim and never require a change of battery.
The EnOcean range extends from light and dimmer switches to thermostats, hydrostats, light level sensors, door and window detectors.
The nonmechanical devices harvest energy from changes in the ambient pressure and temperature to enable battery-free operation.
Commenting, Colin Price, Managing Director of Ivory Egg said: "This is one of the most innovative and versatile ranges of electrical controls that I have seen in a long time - operation almost seems by magic".
"EnOcean offers all the basic controls required for a commercial or domestic building, together with a range of gateways and interfaces allowing integration with LON, KNX/EIB, RS485 or Ethernet communications".
He added: "The simplicity of the EnOcean products eliminates the need to set up a qualified installer network - any electrician can install these products with no training, using the straightforward instructions provided".
Simon Taylor, Product Manager of TDC added: "Ivory Egg websites are already popular with the electrical trade, and EnOcean perfectly complements their existing EIB shop".
"The EnOcean range, exclusively distributed in the UK by TDC, offers significant benefits to the installer including the complete elimination of the need for switch cabling, which significantly reduces installation time and cost".
"Other advantages include the freedom to place sensors on glass walls, stone facades and wooden panels - even in listed buildings".
