A new DC/DC convertor input filter module provides a space efficient and cost effective solution to meet electromagnetic interference limits mandated by various international agencies.

New from Tyco Electronics Power Systems is the FLT007A0 input filter module.

The FLT007A0 provides a space efficient and cost effective solution to meet electromagnetic interference (EMI) limits mandated by various international agencies.

This filter module is suitable for either a 24 or 48V input voltage distributed power architectures and intermediate bus voltage applications used in telecommunications equipment, wireless basestations, enterprise networks, optical networks and industrial equipment.

The FLT007A0 is designed to operate over an input voltage range up to 75V DC at output currents up to 7A in an ambient temperature of -40 to +85C.

This filter module is optimised for use with DC/DC convertor modules to significantly reduce the conducted differential and common-mode noise returned to the power source.

It is ROHS compliant and the module enables designers to meet the requirements of EMI standards CISPR22 (EN55022) and FCC Class B by an insertion inline between the power source and the DC/DC convertor module.

These modules are designed and manufactured to be either surface mounted (-SR version) or through hole mounted on PCBs.

"I am excited that Tyco Electronics Power Systems, is introducing the FLT007A0 filter", said Sabi Varma, Vice President, Marketing and Development Engineering at Tyco Electronics Power Systems.

"This module comes in small-size, cost-efficient open frame design while delivering high power".

"It demonstrates our commitment to technology advancement".

Price of the FLT007A0 input filter module starts at $9.74 each in a quantity of 1000 units.
