The NB1050 demonstrates a single small form factor PCB (18 x 27mm) on which all components are directly mounted.
The final result is a ultralow current consumption (less than 40mA) which allows several days of operation on a single battery charge, as opposed to most existing designs that use multiple PCBs with several hours of operation.
'Nemerix has built its reputation by providing the GPS industry's smallest and most efficient chipsets, and the NB1050's single PCB design clearly demonstrates that our technology provides significant systems level cost savings', said Bijan Mohandes, Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Nemerix.
'We're enabling a new class of Bluetooth-enabled GPS applications, in a variety of handheld devices that will be able to run for days, as opposed to hours'.
The Nemerix NB1050 provides OEMs, ODMs and third party partners with a standard reference design, and the corresponding Gerber files, schematics, bill of materials, and tooling needed to incorporate GPS capabilities into handheld mobile devices, in a simple and straightforward manner.
The NB-1050 is available immediately.
