Semiconductor design specialist Q1 revenues up 15%
Synopsys, a developer of semiconductor design software, has reported results for its first quarter ended 31st January 2007.
Its revenue for the quarter was US $300.2 million, a 15% increase over the $260.2 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2006.
"After a very successful 2006, we continued our excellent execution with a strong first quarter of 2007", says Aart de Geus, Chairman and CEO of Synopsys.
"We delivered excellent financial results, and saw continued product momentum with technology advances, competitive wins, and customer adoptions".
On a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis, net income for the first quarter of fiscal 2007 was $23.4 million, or $0.16 per share, compared with $1.7 million, or $0.01 per share, for the first quarter of fiscal 2006.
On a non-GAAP basis, net income for the first quarter of fiscal 2007 was $44.0 million, or $0.30 per share, compared with non-GAAP net income of $26.4 million, or $0.18 per share, for the first quarter of fiscal 2006.
