The Supertex SR03 Series of high input voltage regulator controller ICs is ideal for low-cost low-power nonisolated power supplies that provide a more energy efficient solution than linear regulators. They require no transformers or inductors, thus eliminating bulky and expensive magnetics, or alternatively, no high voltage (HV) capacitors, saving money while reducing space. The ICs operate directly off a rectified 120 or 240V AC line giving the designer dual outputs: a regulated and an unregulated.

The SR036 features a 3.3V regulated and an unregulated output, while the SR037 features a 5.0V regulated and an unregulated output.

The 700V input voltage capability easily tolerates line transients and provides ease of design for "universal" utility voltages worldwide including 120/240V AC applications.

"The SR03 Series is an innovative and efficient solution for today's low cost power applications such as building controls, white goods, small appliances and emergency lighting", said Brian Hedayati, Director of Marketing at Supertex.

"These offline controller ICs are compact and easy to use.

They offer low part count saving space and reducing board size resulting in significant cost savings".

Samples of the SR036/037MG and SR036/037SG are available from stock in MSOP-8 and SO-8 w/heat slug packages respectively.

Lead-time for production quantities is 4 to 5 weeks ARO, priced at $0.37 for the MG package and $0.47 for the SG package each in 10k quantities.

Demo boards are available.
