Marty Colombatto, current Chairman of the Board of Staccato, has now become Chairman and Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of Rick Kornfeld. Colombatto has served on Staccato's Board since May 2004 and has played an active role in directing the company's strategic business direction. 'Staccato Communications reminds me of Broadcom in the early days'.

'Staccato has assembled an excellent team that has worked extremely hard to deliver the world's only single-chip wireless USB solution - a product that represents the next step in the evolution of digital wireless communication', Colombatto said.

'When you combine a supercharged team with a potentially huge market, the outcome can be extraordinary'.

'I am personally committed to making Staccato the industry leader in our segment as the market adopts this next generation of wireless connectivity'.

'Our position as a supplier of high-quality single-chip CMOS-based UWB and wireless USB solutions will provide our customers with extremely high bandwidth at low cost and low power consumption'.

'We are extremely excited about Marty taking the helm of this company'.

'Over the past two years in his role as Executive Chairman, Marty has already proven to be extremely effective in guiding them company on a number of strategic fronts', said Bill Tai, a partner with Charles River Ventures and Staccato Board member.

'Consumers have now come to expect a wireless world given the broad adoption of low-bitrate technologies like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi - this third wave should be substantially larger than prior waves'.

'Marty's experience will be particularly relevant as we expand our relationships with customers, partners and suppliers and move into production'.

Colombatto is a seasoned semiconductor executive with 20 years experience in sales, marketing and product development, engineering, and merger and acquisition strategies.

Prior to joining Staccato, Colombatto was Vice President and General Manager of Broadcom's Networking Business unit, where he established and managed a business that grew to over $400 million over a four-year period.

During his six-year tenure at Broadcom, he participated in the acquisition and successful integration of several companies into the organisation.

Previously, Colombatto managed sales organisations in North America and Europe for LSI Logic and engineering positions at Reliance Electric and Texas Instruments.
