Scientific Technologies recently broke ground on a new 2500m2 manufacturing facility in Logan, Utah for its growing Automation Products Group. "This is the first of what we anticipate to be three stages of development for STI in Logan", says Randy Anderson, General Manager for the Logan Division of STI's Automation Products Group. Phase one of the expansion effort includes the new building and what is expected to be the addition of 58 jobs over the next five years.

Subsequent phases of the project will grow the facility to approximately 8500m2 and a total of 93 additional jobs.

STI's decision to expand in Logan was influenced by the new Utah Technology Alliance.

The Alliance is an effort put forth by Utah Governor Michael Leavitt to attract technology companies from California to Utah.

As part of the expansion deal, the city of Logan donated the land for the facility.

"We are encouraged to have STI expand in Utah", says Governor Mike Leavitt.

"This company is a great boost to Utah's economy and has recognised the potential of our state as a place of ideas, with a rapidly growing workforce of highly educated professionals".
