A new 46in LCD panel module intended for use by the digital signage market, has a contrast ratio of 1800:1 and a 6ms response time.

Sharp Microelectronics has introduced a new 46in LCD panel module for the digital signage market The large-format display module delivers a contrast ratio of 1800:1 and a 6ms response time

This display is specifically designed for signage applications, such as those commonly found in airports, train stations, malls, and casinos.

The new LK460D3LZ19 46in module incorporates the innovative product features for which Sharp is known; it also capitalises on the company's extensive manufacturing capacity through its new environmentally friendly Kameyama No 2 LCD factory.

The display offers high resolution combined with a small pixel pitch for a clean image and easier, up-close viewing.

This panel features a long-lasting design, low maintenance costs, and improved performance.

Key features of the 46in display module include: full-HD resolution and display (1920 x 1080); high contrast ratio of 1800:1; 6ms response time; Advanced Super View Technology; and a wide viewing angle.

In addition to these most requested features, the display offers 16 million colours, a 16:9 aspect ratio, panel brightness of 450cd/m2 and a symmetrical viewing cone of 176 x 176 degrees.

This display is built in the world's first Generation 8 LCD factory, Kameyama No 2.

Sharp believes that Kameyama No 2 is one of the most environmentally advanced LCD factories in the world having the largest solar cell installation in Japan, 100% waste water recycling and a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by 40%.
