Card reader turns to PC security
A low-cost, easy to install smart card reader allows any home or office PC to be adapted to support secure home banking or e-commerce applications, or to be secured against unauthorised access
A new, slimline chassis touch monitor offering the resilient design and high sensitivity required for this demanding application, allied to the high quality associated with 3M products, has been introduced by Secure Retail. Secure Retail is offering the MicroTouch chassis LCD monitor in a compact 15in style, or the larger 17in diagonal format, offering greater scope for the use of graphics.
Key features of the 3M monitors from Secure Retail include their exceptionally slim profile, of less than 50mm, allowing the creation of a slim, attractive kiosk unit.
Other features include back-mounted display controls that are accessible even when the monitor is sitting flush with the face of the enclosure.
An optional bezel is available for applications requiring a more finished appearance.

In contrast with many alternative solutions, the touch control electronics in 3M touch monitors has been designed, engineered and manufactured as an integral part of the monitor itself by 3M to its accredited ISO9001 procedures, rather than retrofitted to a standard monitor.
In testament to its manufacturing excellence, 3M offers a three year warranty on the entire unit.
The LCD screen is a much more elegant, compact solution than a standard, CRT computer monitor, and also uses less power.
Secure Retail is offering the MicroTouch monitor with durable capacitive touch screen technology, offering accurate and reliable touch performance.
Suitable applications where the monitor is likely to be exposed to, or is subject to exceptionally frequent use, this technology has a proven track record of durability and reliability, and is resistant to scratching, dirt or spillage.
The monitors are CE, FCC B, UL/cUL compliant, and are supplied with VESA-standard mounting options.
