Basestation module boosts speech quality
Kyocera has licensed Spirit's Speech Enhancement Module to improve voice quality in its PHS basestations
Processing thousands of calls from different environments, conventional PHS basestations cannot ensure PSTN speech quality in case of heavily distorted incoming calls. There are some cases where it is impossible to remove annoying echo and noise effects at the near side. The solution is to install the Speech Enhancement Module at the basestation processing the calls, thus improving the quality of incoming voice after the fact, ensuring rich speech quality comparable to wireline service.
