Growing requirements for sound clarity make acoustic echo cancellation more critical than ever as one of fundamental factors influencing communication quality.
Dramatic improvements in sound clarity are claimed through a combination of techniques including: sophisticated full-duplex control; high robustness to the specific problems of mobile equipment, such as noise and nonlinear distortions; a reliable double-talk detector; enhanced nonlinear processing; and subband processing and adaptive filtering.
Features of the software includetrue full-duplex speakerphone operation; more than -42dB total echo rejection; fast convergence; and dynamic adaptation to changing conditions such as noise, speech level or delay.

The mobile acoustic echo cancellation software is available in two versions written as fixed-point DSP code, and is readily portable to multiple DSP or RISC architectures.
