UMTD package handles global signalling
Spirit has released a universal multifrequency tone detector (UMTD) and generator (UMTG) for the TI TMS320C54x platform
Spirit has released a universal multifrequency tone detector (UMTD) and generator (UMTG) which can detect and generate various sets of tones including CPTD, DTMF, MF-R1, MF-R2, as well as some fax and CID tones. The UMTD and UMTG are now available as eXpressDSP (XDAIS) compliant objects for the TI TMS320C54x platform.

'UMTD/UMTG is an easy-to-use telephony tool designed to overcome numerous problems related to incompatibilities between national CPTD/DTMF code tables', said Andrew Sviridenko, CEO of Spirit.
'Our UMTD/UMTG package complies with signalling standards of countries in major regions of the world - Europe, USA, and Asia.
The package can be easily configured to comply with the specific standards of most countries'.
The detector can also be used as a simple spectrum analyser for custom applications, as it features low MIPS consumption and broad dynamic range.
Such flexibility allows for significant economy of program memory in systems where several different tones need to be detected/generated.
