The SS800 can connect online lottery terminals to IP networks, while retaining existing lottery equipment and network infrastructure. The SS800 provides protocol conversion that helps bring legacy lottery terminals' network up to date with current network communication trends. This capability facilitates merchants to connect their legacy lottery terminals to the same IP network used for administrative functions and inventory control.
Merchants typically use a PSTN modem to upload the lottery data to the central database.
The limitation in this system is long transaction time.
Sena's modem emulation technology enables SS800 to act as a modem to send and receive data over an IP network instead of a PSTN.
What merchants need to do is to use an IP address (or domain name) instead of phone number as a parameter of ATA/ATDT commands.
Dynamic DNS protocol is supplied for floating IP environments to allow access via a static domain name.
Furthermore, security features such as SSL, TLS, 3DES data encryption, and RC4 algorithm are provided to ensure a high degree of game security in all possible modes of terminal operation.
On the serial side, the SS800 incorporates a selectable RS232/422/485 interface and transfers the lottery terminal data up to 230Kbit/s in addition to hardware and software flow control options.
Lottery terminal transaction data can be stored in internal memory (RAM), or in a Flash card, and viewed from the web.
Also, control capabilities such as full-featured system status display, automatic email delivery of error log, and event handling are included.
The benefits of networking legacy lottery terminals are: faster online transactions with IP networks, retain existing lottery terminals of almost any manufacturer, and access to greater device data, including statistical and diagnostic information.
