Nitro is a new line of advanced, premium high-speed desktop memory products that will be demonstrated for the first time at Comdex (17th-20th November 2003, in Las Vegas) by Giga-Byte Technology. Nitro modules are microengineered and extensively tested to provide increased CPU speed and performance for demanding applications such as computer gaming and other computer-enthusiast applications. "With products ranging from PC3500 to PC4000 and with capacities from 256Mbyte to 1Gbyte, Nitro is the ideal solution for avid gamers and manufacturers of gaming systems alike", said Kavous Vakilian, DRAM Product Manager for SimpleTech.
"Nitro offers users the ability to push the performance of their system to the limit".
With enhanced performance, Nitro PC3500 modules are rated to operate at DDR433, Nitro PC3700 modules are rated to operate DDR466, and Nitro PC4000 modules are rated to operate at DDR500.
An aluminium heat spreader for thermal diffusion keeps the memory cool to aid in achieving superior performance, as well as prolonging the life of the product.
Nitro modules are currently shipping in single 256 and 512Mbyte capacities, as well as dual channel, matched module pair kits in 512Mbyte (2 x 256Mbyte) and 1Gbyte (2 x 512Mbyte).
Manufacturers suggested retail prices will range from $119 to $399 for different capacity and speed grades.
