New from SimpleTech is an embedded USB Flash drive combining solid-state memory and a USB connection for fast and easy data storing and sharing from any computer with a USB port

The embedded USB Flash Drive expands the company's portable storage offerings after the successful launch of its upgradeable USB Flash drive, Bonzai. "The explosive growth of consumer electronic devices, such as digital still and video cameras, MP3 players, smart cellphones and PDAs, as well as the need for convenient data storage and sharing between desktop and notebook computers in the business and home office markets, are driving the demand for high-capacity, easy-to-use portable storage", said Brad Miller, Product Marketing Manager for SimpleTech.

"SimpleTech offers consumers and business professionals the broadest selection of high-quality, competitively priced portable storage devices on the market today".

SimpleTech's USB Flash drive eliminates the need for floppy disks and CDs for data storage and sharing.

In the office, at home, or on the road, the USB Flash drive plugs directly into the USB port on a PC or Macintosh.

The Flash drive is recognised as a removable storage device, allowing immediate access for storing and sharing data, including MP3 files, digital photos, games, applications and more.

Measuring just 69 x 19 x 8mm, the Flash drive's low-profile design does not block other USB ports when plugged in, and fits easily into a pocket, purse or briefcase for convenient travel.

For added convenience, the Flash drive is hot-swappable, and does not require an external power source.

Available in capacities of 128, 256 and 512Mbyte, the USB Flash drive offers fast file transfer rates of up to 1.5Mbyte/s.

The USB Flash drive's advanced features include a write-protect switch to prevent files from being accidentally deleted or modified.

To ensure data safety and security, USB Flash Drive customers can also download SimpleTech's StorageSync backup software for free from the company's website.

"SimpleTech's USB Flash drive is an irresistible storage alternative to floppy disks and CDs.

A single 256Mbyte SimpleTech USB Flash Drive offers storage capacity equivalent to as many as 177 floppy disks", Miller said.

"USB ports are a standard feature of most desktop and notebook computers, and the Flash Drive's compatibility with both Windows and Macintosh operating systems give users the ultimate plug-and-play, crossplatform flexibility for file sharing and storage".
