System Architect, the novel system modelling and validation solution, has been selected from a field of hundreds as a finalist for this year's EDN Innovation Awards.
System Architect was recognised in the "EDA: design exploration" category.
It provides significant strategic value for first-time success in silicon design and implementation, allowing engineers to profile and analyse different architecture metrics from the specification phase down to RTL levels.
Its unique set of System Architect Instrumented Functions (SAIF) can be instrumented into HW functional code, SW execution threads, or used to describe high-level, token-based models that only simulate system transactions.
During simulation, System Architect can analyse functional and silicon resource tradeoffs, and profile transactions, bus usage, throughput and latencies, interrupt latencies and SW distribution, cache hit and misses, and other attributes, enabling engineers to make sound architectural decisions.
System Architect's unique technology brings architectural analysis tools to RTL and functional levels, and makes them available to every engineer.
In this final week of voting, EDN's worldwide audience of electronics engineers and engineering managers will use an online ballot to select the ultimate winner from among the finalists.
"Our Innovation programme always gets an outstanding set of entries", said EDN Editor-in-Chief Maury Wright.
"With many worthy products barely missing the cut, the chosen finalists should be very proud of their selection.
I look forward to meeting with all of the participants at the awards banquet".
"We feel honoured to receive such outstanding recognition from EDN Magazine as to have our System Architect counted among the finalists", said Guy Moshe, President and CEO of Summit Design.
"By simulating and analysing the performance of various hardware and software architecture configurations early in the design cycle, design engineers using System Architect gain a high level of silicon optimisation and confidence that the system can handle its tasks properly - well before significant time, money, and resources are invested in implementation".
