SMART Modular Technologies has released its Mobile Messaging Terminals (MMT) enabling real-time communications. Powered by the personal mobile gateway (PMG) technology, this device presents operators with an opportunity to generate additional revenue. SMART's MMT allows end-users to seamlessly communicate via instant messaging (IM), short messaging service (SMS) or email using the innovative "type and send" paradigm.
A real-time wireless communication device leveraging PMG technology, SMART's MMT allows the customer to view messages without the delay that encumbers many current IM devices.
Additionally, SMART's MMT offers a large backlit screen and user-friendly keyboard that can be illuminated (by the screen) for high visibility.
A companion product to the PMG, SMART's MMT device is ready for customers to re-badge or to distribute as a SMART branded product bundled with cellular phone packages.
The PMG is used as a bridge between the mobile and the personal area networks (PAN), combining cellular and short distance wireless with micro-router and micro-server functionalities.
It is the point of connection between the wireless network and a new category of affordable and best-of-breed mobile devices delivering a superior wireless experience.
Supporting the IM standard, SMART's MMT device offers interoperability with devices and applications from other vendors supporting the PMG technology.
