PLX Technology is co-operating with its distributor Silicon Concepts to hold a set of free seminars in the UK entitled "The changing face of I/O connectivity". The PLX all-day seminars are also being held in Germany and France during June, and will cover current trends in PCI shared bus technology, emerging technologies such as rapid I/O, Hyper Transport, Infiniband, Ethernet and switched PCI, and future trends, including 3GIO. Dates for the UK are June 17th in Reading and June 18th in Cambridge, featuring presentations by Mike Hopwood, VP Worldwide Sales and Business Development, and Derek Percival, European, Field Applications Engineer.

Mike Hopwood gave the background to the seminar series saying: "The technology choices for connecting I/O have grown rapidly in the past two years.

Where is it going?

Which technology will win?

Do they play together or compete?

Will I have to throw away my current investment?

Our seminars aim to give designers the answers to these questions and more".

PLX Technology provides an integrated combination of high performance silicon, hardware and software design tools, and partnerships.

These innovative solutions enable development of high performance, scalable, and reliable communications equipment such as routers, switches, base station controllers, media gateways, remote access concentrators and enterprise storage products.

Further details including seminar locations and outline programme are on the Silicon Concepts website.
