High-reliability Schottky rectifiers are manufactured in accordance to the Defense Supply Center Columbus Qualified Products List

International Rectifier has introduced a series of high-reliability Schottky rectifiers in accordance to the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) Qualified Products List (QPL). These QPL devices target high-reliability applications in switching power supplies (SMPS), satellite power distribution systems, resonant power convertors, and low-voltage motor control.

QPL certification ensures repeatable performance regardless of device lot or maturity and eliminates the need for customers to generate their own Source Control Drawings (SCDs), reducing cost and time to market.

Kevin Ream, Marketing Manager for IR's Aerospace and Defense Discrete Products, said: 'IR's extensive experience in producing Schottky power rectifiers, combined with QPL certification, provides our customers with an extremely reliable, hermetic solution'.

Schottky rectifiers are used primarily in the output stage of a switching power supply.

Delivering very low forward voltage drops and fast turn-off characteristics, the devices minimise conduction and switching losses in power supply designs.

International Rectifier's new QPL Schottky rectifiers feature a +45 to +100V reverse-voltage range, a 0.69 to 1.3V forward-voltage range and 10 to 35A current rating.

Available in surface-mount and through-hole packages, the devices are screened to JANTX, JANTXV, and JANS levels per MIL-PRF-19500/MIL-STD-750, offering customers the highest reliability available.

The Qualified Parts List (QPL) is the US Department of Defense's list of qualified semiconductor products produced by qualified suppliers in accordance with MIL-PRF-19500 screening requirements.

Suppliers are audited periodically, thus assuring that all customers receive products that meet government standards.
