International Rectifier has opened a new design facility in Pavia, Italy

The new design centre will perform research and development for advanced high-performance, high-voltage motor drive ICs and chipsets for industrial applications, including industrial motor and servo drives and uninterruptible power supplies. The location was selected for its proximity to the University of Pavia, one of the finest microelectronics schools in Europe.

Michele Giammarino, International Rectifier Vice President, High Power Products, said, "The new International Rectifier Design Centre is an ideal environment for the development of advanced, high-voltage power-management products".

The engineering teams in the new facility are equipped with design collaboration software that enhances idea exchange and communication between IR's global design network.
