Alliance adds IP database to prototyping solution

Silicon Perspective Corp (SPC) has become a member of the EDA Ambassador Programme sponsored by Virtual Silicon Technology.

This partnership gives SPC access to Virtual Silicon's extensive IP database, so SPC engineers can assist customers that use this IP.

SPC's First Encounter prototyping solution enables designers to quickly evaluate the physical feasibility of their largest designs early in the design cycle, before and during RTL design.

SPC's First Encounter creates a full-chip prototype using a combination of intellectual property components or macros, RTL code and gates.

Virtual Silicon is a key provider of the IP components used by the chip designers.

"The beauty of First Encounter is that it doesn't require special interfaces to IP libraries.

However, when a customer needs assistance, we need access to the IP libraries to properly view their designs.

Now that many of our customers are using Virtual Silicon's IP, this partnership gives us the IP access we need", stated SPC's vice president of marketing, Michel Courtoy.
