Metallic switches snap into place

Metallic switches with snap in technology enable quick and efficient assembly in buildings, controllers or equipment with limited or no access from the rear

Schurter has announced the addition of a new mounting technology to its range of metal switches. The switches are assembled from the front side of the equipment and then force fitted into the front panel. Thus, these new metallic switches with snap in technology enable quick and efficient assembly in buildings, controllers or equipment with limited or no access from the rear.

Such applications include hollow sections used in buildings or equipment with limited space inside.

Additional advantages are the cost savings, due to eliminating hardware and reducing assembly time.

Conventional metallic switches have to be fixed by a nut or a clamp from the rear site of the housing.

For the snap in switches, fixing accessories or even fitting tools are not required.

Furthermore, the switches can be placed in narrow spaces, where maximum actuation with minimum mounting space can be achieved.

The snap in technology is available for 19, 22, 24, 27 and 30mm mounting diameters.

The Schurter Metal Line comprises a wide range of vandal-proof metal switches.

Metal Line products are available with piezoelectronics for long life, protection against outdoor elements, high impact resistance and overall indestructible wear.

Also available are electromechanical switches for applications requiring travel with the switching action.

The switches have an IK rating 02-07 for impact withstand.

IP ratings range from 40 to 67 for degree of seal protection. Request a free brochure from Schurter Input Systems....
