Hans-Werner Eisinger has joined in-home powerline communications startup SiConnect as European Sales Manager

Based in Germany, Eisinger brings to the role more than 20 years experience of semiconductor sales and application engineering. Eisinger moves to SiConnect from the position of Director of European Sales at rival powerline communications provider Intellon. He has previously held senior sales management roles at companies including Cirrus Logic and Integrated Device Technology.

'The SiConnect technology offers considerable advantages over its competitors and the prospects for its widespread adoption are very high', said Eisinger.

'Interest in powerline communications networks for the home is growing rapidly and SiConnect is ideally positioned to provide a highly competitive solution for in-home audio/video applications, including the distribution of triple play services'.

Unveiled earlier this year, SiConnect's POEM technology aims to bring a wide range of benefits to the powerline communications arena, including managed QoS, a true plug and play user experience, privacy protection, full compliance with global EMC regulations, and a $5 chip price.

SiConnect has just announced it has received first-time working silicon for its first powerline transceiver from the foundry, and is ready to start benchmarking the device.

The company is now on course to be sampling its first product during Q4 O2006 and moving to volume availability in Q1 O2007.
