Handset batteries tested for safety
SGS has been selected by the CTIA (The Wireless Association) as an IEEE1725 reviewing organisation.
With recent product recalls due to the hazardous failures of lithium-ion batteries, numerous companies and organisations are increasing their efforts to ensure safer products through standardised design and qualification requirements The standards include: IEEE1625 (Rechargeable batteries for portable computing), and IEEE1725 (Rechargeable batteries for cellular telephones)
