The SMT8091 is a high-performance PC-based software-defined data-acquisition system

Available from Sundance, the SMT8091 is a high-performance PC-based software-defined data-acquisition system. It combines a PC carrier board (SMT310Q) with a dual 8bit ADC AT84AD001 device sampling up to a speed of 1Gsample/s via the Sundance LVDS bus (SMT391-VP). The data can then be transferred to the SMT395 via the RSL links for processing in both memory and real time using the 64bit 1GHz DSP (TMS320C6416T) on the SMT395.

The data can also be stored in a file for further data processing such as FFT.

Both the SMT395 and the SMT391-VP have large FPGAs (Virtex II Pro VP30) that can be used in addition of the DSP to implement data processing.

This system can be used for various applications including broadband cable modem head-end systems, wireless infrastructure applications, 3G/4G radio transceivers, software defined radio systems, satellite receivers, medical imaging systems, spectrum analysers, and high-speed data acquisition system with or without digital processor.
