Spectrum releases set of data acquisition cards
Spectrum, a German specialist for fast PC data acquisition, has announced four new products, M2i.4028 (20 MS/s) and M2i.4038 (50 MS/s), each available as PCI/PCI-X and PCI Express versions.
All cards consist of one 14-bit analogue channel and 16 digital channels together with programmable counters.
The new products are based on the M2i.40xx series and offer six input ranges between +/-200 mV and +/-10 V for the analogue channel and sampling rates of 20 MS/s and 50 MS/s with a resolution of 14 bit.
Data is written into the 128 MSample large on-board memory which can be extended up to 2 GSample.
In addition to the analogue data it is possible to also acquire 16 digital channels.
Digital data can either be acquired directly in parallel or using an encoder input.
Both modes can also be combined by software command.
With these features it is possible to acquire azimuth and elevation angle of a RADAR antenna together with the analogue data.
The angle information can either be acquired continuously and synchronously with the analogue data or using a special marker mode as a single angle information together with each data segment.
Using these modes together with the fast continuous FIFO transfer, the programmable trigger delay and the extremely short dead time between segments the card may be adopted to nearly every possible application need.
The card is delivered with drivers for Windows 2000, XP and Vista as well as Linux Kernel 2.4 and 2.6.
The 32-bit as well as the 64-bit versions are supported on all operating systems.
The easy-to-program drivers and the powerful examples together with the detailed documentation allow a fast development of own applications.

- Analogue and digital are acquired together
Many real-world applications such as radar demand the acquisition of both analogue signal data and digital position data, and now Spectrum has released four new products for this market. - Spectrum introduces high-precision digitisers
Spectrum has introduced the M3i.41xx series, the first of a series of ultra-fast, high-precision digitisers. - Cards upgrade to industry-leading memory capacity
Spectrum now offers a market-leading 256Mbyte of memory as standard on its M2i series cards, expandable to 4Gbyte. - Digitisers avoid noise induction
Spectrum's M2i.30xx is available in 17 different versions with one to four channels and sampling rates of between 40 and 200Msample/s. - Acquisition cards cover all PC buses
Series includes cards with two, four and eight channels with sampling rates between 1 and 25Msample/s.
