A new signal convertor is designed to enable older graphics or video sources to be displayed on any modern DVI digital or analogue monitor

Scene Double has introduced a new signal convertor that is designed to enable older graphics or video sources to be displayed on any modern DVI digital or analogue monitor. Manufactured in Germany by IHSE, the RGB-to-DVI/VGA convertor can accept inputs from a wide variety of sources, including RGB, RGBS, CVBS, SVHS, CGA, EGA and VGA.

It is particularly suitable for applications in industrial control, where equipment may output video signals that are incompatible with modern monitors.

The model K238-3F convertor digitises the incoming signals, stores them in a video memory and displays them in a user-selectable resolution to match the requirements of the attached monitor.

Standard resolutions available include 640 x 480, 800 x 600, 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 1024, with either a 75 or 60Hz refresh rate.

In addition, the picture can be displayed using a variety of scaling options: original size with a black surround, stretched to fit the full screen, proportional stretching, or fixed 1:2 scaling.

All user selections and image adjustments are made via an on-screen display, which can be controlled either by an infra-red RCU or by software via the convertor's serial programming port.

The K238-3F convertor is supplied as standard with an RGB(S)-to-DVI cable, a DVI-to-VGA adapter (allowing the signal to be displayed on a VGA monitor), a programming cable, infra-red RCU and power supply.

Optional upgrade kits provide all the cables needed for attaching CGA/EGA or Pal/NTSC video sources.
