PMC networking modules come with Linux drivers: News from SBE

SBE's top selling PCI mezzanine card (PMC) modules are now available with TimeSys Linux certified software drivers. Designed to support a variety of I/O interfaces, the SBE WAN connectivity modules highlighted by this announcement include the wanPMC-2T3E3, wanPMC-1T3, wanPMC-C4T1E1, wanPMC-1SSI and wanPMC-1HSSI. These modules provide T3, E3, T1, E1, synchronous serial and high-speed synchronous serial interface connections, for communications and connectivity applications.

SBE's wanPMC modules and TimeSys Linux provide the ultimate in hardware/software for communications solutions.

Unlike other implementations, TimeSys Linux incorporates real time technology directly in the Linux kernel.

It contains a new fully pre-emptable priority based scheduler that handles thousands of priority levels and supports scheduled and priority-based interrupt handling.

As an example of the flexibility of SBE's communications solutions, the wanPMC modules can be paired with SBE's recently released HighWire 400p/M PCI core processing platform, featuring a developer's kit for TimeSys Linux.

Systems integrators can rapidly develop multiple product configurations that address a variety of I/O requirements by reusing the HW400p/M core platform with different modules.
