UK-based miniature antenna specialist Sarantel has expanded its European sales and support network in response to strong demand for its products in the region. The company has appointed five new distributors to support growing interest in its miniature antennas from both government and commercial wireless equipment developers. Each distributor will be able to offer full design-in engineering support and will actively promote Sarantel's full range of GPS, 3G and Wi-Fi products in their respective regions.

Barrie Foley, Sarantel's CEO, commented: "Sarantel's antennas continue to be selected for tracking and handset applications worldwide and the new European distributors will boost the local support needed to solve complex RF problems".

Foley continued: "There is a truly global market for our high-dielectric miniature antennas and, although we are becoming stronger in the US and Asia Pacific regions, we need to respond aggressively to the sheer strength of the wireless industry in our own back yard".

Matrix, based in Madrid, will cover Spain and Portugal, and Orvem, headquartered in Milan, has been appointed in Italy.

Netherlands-based JAT will cover the Benelux region, Framos will cover Germany from Munich, and Secos, located in Baar, will represent the company in Switzerland.

This brings Sarantel's European technical distributors to a total of 12, all of which are working with a broad spectrum of customers from startups to major OEMs and ODMs.
