Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente has augmented its franchises in the electromechanical sector throughout Europe with leading manufacturers. The franchises will be expanded with Panasonic, Fujitsu and Comus. In the batteries segment, Rutronik is co-operating with BMZ, one of the largest manufacturers of battery packs, also on a European level.
The franchise for Panasonic batteries will be expanded from Germany to include Scandinavia, Benelux, Switzerland, Austria and Eastern Europe.
The connector manufacturer FCI (until now only a partner in France) has expanded its franchise agreement with Rutronik to include Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
The long-standing successful co-operation with Molex in Germany and France was the decisive factor for expanding the franchise area to include Austria and Eastern Europe.
Further connector manufacturers, such as ITW Pancon, expand the connector portfolio across Europe.
For Odu, Rutronik will be operating with immediate effect in Scandinavia.
The switches segment has been expanded with the European franchise for Diptronic products.
For Rutronik, this step means a further expansion in the electromechanical business sector and a virtually pan-European harmonisation of its product portfolio for connectors, relays, batteries, fuses and switches.
With this franchise situation Rutronik is becoming a leader for electromechanical products in Europe.
The focus will mainly be on the automotive, mechanical engineering, medical technology and consumer electronics market segments.
As a distributor, Rutronik caters to these segments with specially adapted 'e-mech product packages', which make the task of selecting the right components for the realisation of applications a great deal easier for customers.
With this move, Rutronik is extending its pan-European leading position as a broad-line distributor, with a special focus on system solutions and design-in.
At present, the components market within the electromechanical sector is recording relatively small growth figures of 2-3%.
By contrast, Rutronik is growing by a rate of more than 10%.
The company attributes this success to its well-balanced product portfolio, the support the manufacturers receive in terms of knowledge and information transfer and the focus on design-in.
Rutronik is hopeful that the new franchises will generate additional synergies, promote further growth and create new opportunities for its project business.
The manufacturers all regard Rutronik's pan-European presence, its ongoing growth, technical expertise and corresponding services as a perfect supplement to their sales channels.
Thanks to the added value Rutronik contributes all the way along the supply chain, the manufacturers are anticipating an increase in customer satisfaction and, as such, their market presence in Europe.
'We have set an example in the electromechanical sector and have successfully progressed from a supplier of components to a system provider', explains Jorg Ciper, who is responsible for electromechanical products at Rutronik.
'At present, we account for a good 12% share of Rutronik's total turnover'.
'We aim to continue to increase this figure and to take our electromechanical division to new dimensions'.
'Now that the expansion of the manufacturer portfolio has been completed, we have created the ideal conditions for achieving this'.
The electromechanical division was set up during 1995 in the wake of the 'Broadliner Concept' and has been expanded significantly since 2003 under the management of Ciper.
Today, the organisational structures cover the specific requirements in the electromechanical sector throughout Europe.
At local level, experienced electromechanical product specialists are available in each country to advise customers on-site in the selection of the right products and to accompany them during the project phase.
