RS Components has introduced Moeller's Efergy wireless electricity module to its product range.

The module displays power consumption then converts it to a monetary value and estimates CO2 emissions.

It can also show historical and average data.

The Efergy wireless electricity monitor helps to control energy usage by monitoring the electricity usage over a period of days, weeks or months.

It can be used to show trends or instant power usage, helping to identify the cost of running equipment and areas of potential cost savings.

The transducer and wireless transmitter can be mounted inside a distribution panel, fuse box or control panel, with the monitor being placed somewhere more visible.

The data is stored daily in a CPU memory.

Efergy's dual-tariff system allows the unit price charged by an electricity supplier to be entered.

When this is combined with the internal real-time clock all logged data is meaningful and suitable for analysing usage patterns.

The sensor can be clipped around the live feed cable, and the transmitter sends information to the portable display unit.
