The new products include a range of wireless and maintenance free transmitter and receiver products from new supplier, EnOcean.

Offering a complete range from finished control, switching and sensing products, these products utilise energy from the environment and are able to operate on tiny amounts of power.

More importantly they require no external power source, batteries or PSU, as all the power needed to operate them is generated internally.

Suitable for limitless applications where maintenance free and flexible switching needs to be installed without drilling, cabling and reconstruction costs, these low power transmitter boards will appeal to design engineers where power considerations are important.

RS has also included Bluetooth modules and accessories from Ezurio.

Featuring BISM II (Bluetooth Intelligent Serial Module) with AT command interface or HCI interface, these are the latest Bluetooth version 2.0, Class1 and are qualified as an end product with no further approvals required.

When used with complimentary Ezurio products, transmission distances can exceed most others in the market.

RS can provide the full range of products from modules with various interfaces, development kits, high speed USB adapters, RS232 adapters and PCMCIA Bluetooth cards.

The continuing strength of the offer is highlighted with the new Qinetiq high sensitivity GPS receiver module, with fast acquisition and tracking capability at low signal strengths.

With accuracy better than 5m and a small footprint of 22 x 26.5 x 3.3mm, it is ideal for telematics devices and asset or personnel tracking.
