RS Components UK won the highly prestigious Best Transactional Website Award at last week's ECMOD 2005 Catalogue Awards.
RS Components beat a whole range of sectors and businesses including larger multinational channel marketing organisations to take home this prestigious award.
Judges for this award looked for thoughtfully designed sites that combined ease of use with quality presentation, clarity, swift navigation, strong offers, brand positioning, professional fulfilment and which make a measurable contribution to new customer recruitment and profits.
The already multi-award-winning RS website underwent redevelopment and took another leap forward earlier this year, with enhanced functionality that allows any number of the 250,000 products to be compared in terms of cost and attributes side-by-side, and extensive support for RoHS compliance.
The success of the new site functions combined with RS' existing catalogue expertise made RS Online fit the criteria above and beyond all other entries.
Commenting on RS Components' success, Graham Johnson UK Marketing Manager, RS Components said: "Winning this ECMOD award is a tremendous achievement against some excellent competitors".
"It is a great testimony to the effort all the staff at RS make to provide our customers with the best possible service".
"Importantly, it demonstrates that our business offer remains leading edge in an ever more competitive marketplace".
He added: "The improvement of RS Online has given our customers new and easy ways to compare and purchase on the web".
"By giving customers the opportunity to view and order through our integrated multichannel strategy, paired with 24/7 phone support, we endeavour to remain our customers' preferred choice".
The ECMOD Awards are in their eighth year and have firmly established itself as the catalogue sector's most important awards.
With over 180 entries, this year's awards were announced at the awards dinner and presentation on 24th November 2005, held at the Ibis Hotel, London, and attended by more than 700 sector executives.
