Over 100,000 new electronic products from RS' US sister company, Allied Electronics plus 17 key supplier ranges, have been added to the catalogue, bringing the total number of available product lines to over 250,000.

Launched simultaneously across Europe, the key ranges include products from major brands such as Molex, Tyco, AVX, Belden, National Semiconductor, Panasonic, ST Microelectronics, Philips Semiconductor, Texas Instruments, Amphenon, Vishay, Alpha Wire, 3M, Altech, Freescale, Infineon, Murata, AMP, Keystone, Olympic Wire and Cable, On Semiconductor and Analog Devices.

All the extended range products have a three to eight day lead time, with orders over GBP 100 shipped free of charge.

To further meet the needs of its customers, RS will add new products on a monthly basis.

To order from the extended range, customers have a choice of the RS website or a dedicated phone line.

Those ordering online can find the products by searching for either part number or brand name, with the option to only display products from the extended range.

All the new components are compatible with new functionality on the website to help customers comply with RoHS legislation.

RoHS compliance is shown by all search results, with a symbol to show whether the product is compliant, non compliant, or under investigation.

Search results can be filtered to show only compliant products, while a new service allows customers to be notified by email when the status of products under investigation changes.

This "Notify Me" service is free, and available to all registered users of the site with an email address.
