"An investment in future partnerships with local business" was how a new RS Components Trade Counter was described during its opening in Treforest, near Cardiff, South Wales by John Griffiths (AM), Deputy Minister for Economic Development last Wednesday.

Griffiths, representing the Welsh Assembly Government, was joined by other representatives of local government and trade organisations as guests during the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.

This is the second RS Trade Counter to be unveiled in as many weeks following the opening of a similar facility earlier this month in Aberdeen by RS Components.

Both sites build on the strong relationships RS has established with businesses in the two regions over the years and demonstrate the company's confidence in the strength and growth potential of the local economies of both regions.

Trade Counter personnel have also been recruited locally to ensure that technical advice and support is fully combined with good regional knowledge.

During the opening of the South Wales Trade Counter, Ian Mason, CEO of Electrocomponents (the parent company of RS Components), stated: "We already have a successful history of building supply partnerships with many customers in the area, large and small, and this great facility will allow us to improve the service we offer even further as well as attract new customers".

He continues: "The key to our success is an extremely broad product portfolio backed by outstanding customer service levels and the full support of the RS organisation - all of which makes us the ideal supply partner to help companies in the South Wales region succeed".
