The BHXXFB1WG series is billed as the industry's smallest LDO voltage regulators and ideal for PDAs, portable music players, and other applications where high output voltage accuracy is required but where space and power consumption have to be minimised. Products in the Rohm BHXXFB1WG CMOS type regulator series have output voltage accuracies of 11% and offer a wide input voltage range of between 2.5 and 5.5V. All of the devices are supplied in a new 5-pin HVSOF package that has dimensions of just 1.6 x 1.3 x 0.6mm.

The new lineup delivers output voltage options of 1.5, 1.8, 2.5, 2.8, 2.9, 3.0, 3.1 and 3.3V.

Maximum output current is 150mA, and a low quiescent circuit current of just 40uA ensures minimum power consumption.

A key feature of the new devices is a high ripple rejection specification of 70dB (at a frequency of 1kHz).

Despite their small size, the new regulators offer a high level of integration that includes built-in overcurrent protection, a thermal shutdown function, and a pin for controlling standby mode.
