Five new ranges of miniature Schottky barrier diodes are all aimed at power-related applications. Combining low reverse currents (IR) with low forward voltage (VF) losses, the new 30, 40, 60 and 90V Schottky barrier diodes feature current ratings between 1 and 30A. The devices are ideally suited to power supplies, DC/DC convertors, automotive power systems, and a variety of other power-related applications where efficiency and minimum footprint are key design criteria.
Each of the new devices can be supplied in dual-die configuration that integrates two diodes with a common cathode into a single package.
Surface mount CPD (D-pack) package options measuring 6.5 x 5.5 x 2.3mm are available for 30V devices with ratings up to 10A and for current ratings of up to 6A in the case of the 40, 60 and 90V diodes.
Diodes with higher current ratings are supplied in a leaded fully isolated TO-220FN package style measuring 10.0 x 4.5 x 15.0mm.
Typical VF ratings for the new 30V diodes (RSXxx01T3 and RB085B-30) are between 0.40 and 0.43V, and typical IR ratings range from 3505A down to just 255A.
All 40V (RBxx5x-40) diodes have typical VF ratings of 0.49V, with typical IR ratings ranging from 105 to 605A.
For the 60V (RBxx5x-60) devices typical VF and IR ratings are between 0.53 and 0.59V and 105 to 905A, respectively.
Finally, the RBxx5x-90 90V diodes have typical VF ratings from 0.70 to 0.76V and typical IR ratings from 75 to 405A.
