Rohde and Schwarz developed the R and S EVS300 for checking and maintaining landing systems and omnidirectional radio.

ILS (Instrument Landing Systems) and VOR (VHF Omnidirectional Radio) help pilots to navigate and land their aircraft safely.

Rohde and Schwarz developed the R and S EVS300 for checking and maintaining the corresponding systems.

Light in weight (less than 6kg), the instrument is ideal for outdoor measurements at airports or measurements in the laboratory.

It also features extremely fast measurement data processing as well as a large internal data memory.

The new functions of the R and S EVS300 make it suitable for use as a measuring instrument for flight checks and ground-based measurements.

Furthermore, all important data from the air and from the ground can be easily combined.

The complexity of test systems for testing in accordance with recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO, Doc.

8071) is drastically reduced.

The R and S EVS300 offers a highly accurate localiser, glidepath, and marker beacon measurements for ILS signal analysis.

The R and S EVS-K3 option makes it possible to analyse both carriers of a two-frequency ILS system simultaneously or individually.

In addition to modulation parameters, level and phase relationships of the course and clearance signals of an ILS system can be exactly measured in the operating mode.

The R and S EVS-B1 option adds a second, independent signal processing channel allowing the user to perform parallel localiser and glidepath measurements.

Moreover, the analyser allows a precise check of CVOR/DVOR transmit systems in the field and from the air by using selective modulation depth, frequency, and deviation measurements.

The front end has good, large-signal behaviour and a low noise figure, so data can also be determined precisely at large distances from the transmitter stations.

The R and S EVS-K4 option for FFT analysis makes it possible to analyse distortion of the baseband signal with a dynamic range of more than 90dB.

A separate baseband analyser is not needed.

The frequency scan of the R and S EVS-K1 option with a dynamic range up to 100dB and a frequency range from 70 to 350MHz complements the application package.

It is equipped with a large internal data memory including graphical representation of the measurement values.

The R and S EVS300 makes an additional PC unnecessary for mobile applications.

For further processing, measurement values can be transmitted over standard interfaces or copied to a USB memory stick.

The instrument's low weight and rechargeable batteries provide an operating time of eight to ten hours during continuous measurements.
