The R and S ZVB20 is a vector network analyser in the medium price range for the microwave applications up to 20GHz.

The R and S ZVB20 from Rohde and Schwarz is a vector network analyser in the medium price range for the microwave applications up to 20GHz.

It is the latest extension to the R and S ZVB family of network analysers covering the frequency range from 300kHz to 8GHz.

Available as a two-port or four-port instrument, the R and S ZVB20 is suitable for universal measurements on multiports as well as for measurements on balanced DUTs.

High measurement and data transfer speed plus comprehensive display and analysis functions make the R and S ZVB20 ideal for use in R and D and production.

Its various applications include measurements during the production of microwave components for mobile radio and broadband communications as well as measurements in aeronautical, aerospace and military engineering.

Network analysers from the R and S ZVB family feature high measurement speed, a wide dynamic range typically greater than 130dB and maximum output power of up to +13dBm.

The sophisticated and user-friendly operating concept not only helps to solve difficult measurement tasks quickly and easily but also to handle large amounts of measurement data without any problem.

The analyser can be operated via context-sensitive pull-down menus using the mouse as well as via hardkeys and softkeys.

Convenient wizards in the R and S ZVB20 support complex operating sequences, including calibration.

These wizards provide the basic settings for various measurement functions.

In addition, there are extensive online help functions that include many detailed examples as well as the required IEC/IEEE bus commands.

The "undo" button makes it easy to correct erroneous entries.

Different instrument setups can be stored on the integrated hard disk and retrieved at any time.

Several setups can be loaded simultaneously into the RAM of the R and S ZVB20.

This enables very fast switchover between the different setups by pressing a key, clicking the mouse or entering a control command; this characteristic is especially beneficial for use in production, but also when performing additional manual measurements.

Up to 20,001 measurement points per trace can be stored.

Convenient marker and analysis functions for evaluating measurement results as well as import and export capabilities for different data formats are available.

By means of a versatile equation editor, the traces can be linked to virtually any mathematical function.

When characterising components, the individual quantities can thus be directly displayed.

Moreover, the embedding/de-embedding function allows parasitic effects or special matching networks to be taken into account in the calculations.

The analyser offers various functions to accelerate test sequences in the production environment.

In addition to fast switchover between different setups, the instrument also allows simultaneous data acquisition and analysis on all test ports plus data transfer during the measurement.

An IEC/IEEE bus and LAN interface makes it possible to remotely control the R and S ZVB20.

In addition, a trigger port for synchronising with external instruments and a TTL interface for controlling a handler are provided.

The R and S ZVB20 is now available from Rohde and Schwarz as a two-port or four-port model.
