The Queen's Awards for Enterprise today announced that RFI Global Services has been awarded for export achievements

RFI has almost doubled its export revenue to GBP 6 million in only three years. The award is made under the category 'International Growth', and historically is the category that receives the largest number of applications. It is the first time that RFI has applied for a Queen's Award, making the achievement even more notable.

More than 350 companies applied for the award this year, 90 were successful.

The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious awards for business performance recognising outstanding achievement by UK companies.

They are renowned as being an important independent endorsement of a company's quality and credibility.

Established in 1987, RFI Global Services is a leading provider of testing, regulatory and other consultancy services worldwide to the cellular, smartcard, wireless and electronics industries to help ensure new products comply with all relevant international safety and electrical standards.

The company employs 125 staff across two sites in Basingstoke UK, most are highly skilled engineers.

Whilst its international emphasis is in Asia, including Japan, Taiwan, Korea and China which combined account for more than 60% of the company's revenue, RFI is active throughout Europe, the US and more recently South Africa and New Zealand.

Commenting on the Award, RFI's cofounder and CEO, Stephen Kirk said: 'We are delighted and very proud to have received this much coveted and prestigious award'.

'It is a testimony to the hard work and commitment of everyone within the company'.

'Through a well-focused marketing strategy, direct selling through local offices, agencies, a joint venture in China and our new subsidiary established in Korea (scheduled to open in June 2006) we plan to continue on our path of international success'.

'We place particular emphasis on staff linguistic capabilities and international recruitment and work especially hard in developing local knowledge and strong business relationships in each individual country'.
