Quanmax has announced the Qbox-1000, the pocket-sized fanless embedded computer with an overall height of 40mm.

The Qbox-1000 is based on the ultra-low power Intel Atom N270 processor 1.6GHz with DDR2 system memory up to 2GB.

With the integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, the Qbox-1000 can offer vivid images and smooth HD video playback.

Its power-efficient design enables it to operate with a 20W power consumption, making the Qbox-1000 suitable for many low-power embedded applications requiring high-end graphics and space-saving packages, such as entry-level gaming, commercial outdoor broadcasting and POS/POI terminals.

The Qbox-1000 is equipped with I/O interfaces including one Gigabit Ethernet, four USB 2.0 ports, audio connector, eSATA connector and DVI-I connector for CRT and DVI output.

Storage is provided by a 2.5in SATA hard drive bay or Compactflash.

Advanced network connectivity is also available with an optional Wi-Fi module.

The rugged, fanless aluminum case provides passive cooling and heat dissipation for quiet operation.

The cable-less design of the Qbox-1000 enhances system stability and simplifies maintenance in harsh environments.

The low power design of the Qbox-1000 fulfills the need to minimise the power consumption and reduce the energy expense.

This compact Intel Atom-based embedded platform can be wall mounted or Vesa mounted.
