QNX Software Systems has named Paul Hohos as its Director of Automotive Sales for North America

Hohos brings more than 20 years of automotive industry experience to QNX and will be responsible for managing the company's sales strategy for the automotive market. Hohos joins QNX from Wipro Technologies, where he was responsible for the company's North American automotive business, including establishing outsourcing models for the Embedded and Product Engineering Division and managing the sales cycle.

Earlier in his career, Hohos spent more than a decade at Ford Motor Company in design engineering and product lifecycle management.

'We will rely heavily on Paul's expertise as we continue to expand our reach in the automotive space, particularly in North America', said Dan Dodge, CEO, QNX Software Systems.

'His deep knowledge of the design and development of automotive applications, both in-house and with outsourcing companies, combined with his sales and management experience makes him a natural for the job and I am confident he will be an incredible asset to QNX'.

'As telematics and in-car infotainment devices become more common, the market opportunity for QNX's ultrareliable operating system continues to increase', said Hohos.

'My goal at QNX is to build on the partnerships already in place and to expand the global reach of the company by establishing new relationships with potential partners looking for technology that is second to none in the industry today'.

An impressive line up of Tier One automotive suppliers such as Delphi, Harman/Becker, Hyundai Autonet, Johnson Controls, LG Electronics, Mobis, Navis and Visteon rely on the unmatched reliability and performance of the QNX Neutrino real-time operating system for automotive applications.

Telematics units powered by QNX technology are found worldwide in vehicles built by Acura, Audi, DaimlerChrysler, Daewoo, Ford, Hyundai, Saab and other auto manufacturers.
