DIN-rail power supply provides a short-term bonus
The latest addition to the space saving Puls Dimension series is a 480W unit with output adjustable from 24 to 28V DC at up to 20A continuous load.
Puls Power Supplies, one of the world's largest manufacturers of DIN-rail power supplies has released a new 480W model.
The latest addition to the space saving Puls Dimension series, the output is adjustable from 24 to 28V DC at up to 20A continuous load.
A major benefit of the Puls Dimension series is the Bonus Power feature, allowing 50% extra output power for up to 4s.
This means users can confidently buy a power supply rated exactly for their application without having to pay extra for an overspecified unit in order to deal with occasional output power peaks.
The QT20.241 leads the market with efficiency up to 95% enabling an ultracompact case size of just 65 x 124 x 127mm ensuring maximum DIN rail space is available for system control components.
Featuring a wide range three-phase input voltage from 380 to 480V AC the unit is specified for two-phase operation and has an MTBF of better than 600kh.
The power supply has an active input transient filter which together with active power factor correction and very low inrush current greatly simplifies circuit protection.
Full output power is available over the temperature range -25 to +60C and a "DC OK" relay signal provides feedback to system controller.
Reliable "quick-connect" spring clamp terminals are used for input and output connections simplifying installation and maintenance and the power supply has a 3-year warranty.
The QT20 family includes two other models with output voltages of 36-42 and 48-55V DC.
"The QT20 power supply is ideal for use in remote locations in extreme conditions", claims Harry Moore, Managing Director of Puls UK.
"The combination of high efficiency and reliability, wide operating temperature range and rugged filtering really makes this a great product for outdoor cabinets and harsh environments where secure power is essential".
"While we specify low temperature start as being -25C we have carried out tests for a major customer which show in practice -40C is typical".
The QT20.241 fulfils the requirements of EN61558-2-17, EN60204-1, EN61131 and EN50178 and is approved to EN60950-1, UL508, UL60950-1 and SEMI F47.
Typical applications include industrial control equipment, office and electrical systems, control panels, communication systems and instrumentation.
Puls Dimension products are available from stock in the UK.
