PerkinElmer Optoelectronics is to showcase its Chip-on-Board (COB) LED systems at the eighth annual Strategies in Light conference and exhibition in San Jose in February

PerkinElmer Optoelectronics, a specialist in digital imaging, specialty lighting and optical detection technologies, is to showcase its Chip-on-board (COB) LED systems at the eighth annual Strategies in Light conference and exhibition, held from 12th to 14th February, 2007, at the San Jose Convention Center, San Jose, CA.

Dr Michael Kramer, Managing Director LED Solutions, will present on 'The Use of Chip-on-Board LEDs in Medical Applications', on 14th February at 9:30 a.m.

In its eighth year, Strategies in Light is both the longest running and the largest conference in the LED industry.

This event is the premier annual forum for presenting current commercial developments in high-brightness LED applications.

Dr Kramer's presentation will offer specific insights into LED trends and opportunities in the medical lighting markets, with a focus on COB technologies and applications.

PerkinElmer's COB technology enables OEMs to maximise development potential and flexibility for a wide variety of cost-effective, innovative lighting applications including medical lighting, architectural, task and specialty lighting, sensor applications, signaling, aerospace and transportation, and machine vision.

On display at Strategies in Light (Booth 303) will be: ACULED - the new, compact multi-use RGB LED making use of COB technology for superior brightness, colour mixing and thermal management.

LHS-AL25 - a new, easily attachable, cost-effective lens holder system for beam shaping of the ACULED, offering increased luminous intensity while sustaining the platform's superior colour mixing.

The LHS-AL25 has a small footprint (25 x 25 mm) and is available with two apertures, 22 and 32.

PerkinElmer's array of LED offerings provides OEMs with superior brightness, efficiency, thermal management and precision chip placement.

COB-based LED offerings include a wide spectrum from UV, visible to IR, as well as standard SMD and custom products.
