Patent covers PoE in connectors
PowerDsine has been awarded a US patent for PoE functionality in a connector assembly.
PowerDsine has been awarded a patent in the United States for PoE functionality in a connector assembly.
This patent further extends PowerDsine's patent portfolio in PoE integrated technology.
US Patent 6,916,206, issued on 12th July 2005, is addressed to a connector assembly, such as an RJ45, which provides certain PoE functionality.
This patent builds on PowerDsine's previously issued connector patent 6,764,343, issued in November of 2004, and is an important part of the company's strategy to achieve technological leadership.
"This US patent adds to our growing list of issued patents and illustrates PowerDsine's continued commitment to develop power over Ethernet technology", said PowerDsine CEO Igal Rotem.
"We believe that integrating power over Ethernet functionality with a connector assembly is of great benefit to those switch manufacturers seeking a simple PoE solution that minimises the footprint in Ethernet switch designs".
