Switchers provide powerful footprint
Wide-ranging AC/DC power supplies are ideally suited for those applications where space is at a premium
Each module can offer single, dual or triple outputs and, depending on the module combination selected, the power supply can provide between 1.8 and 60V DC.
Input is power factor corrected universal 85 to 264V AC with output power up to 1500W.
Developed by Astec, the iMP Series uses the I2C bus to monitor key parameters including voltage, current, temperature and elapsed time.
According to Powersolve's Managing Director Peter Clark, the iMP Series will suit low to medium volume users looking for a high specification custom power supply with a host of user benefits.
'It will be interesting to see how the customer profile develops for this new type of power source, but my guess is that customers will quickly see the benefit in the extra control capabilities and will see the variety of output ranges as a fast way to get exactly the power supply they need'.
The iMP Series provides overtemperature, overvoltage and overcurrent protection and current sharing on all outputs less than 10A.
The I2C bus also allows temperature monitoring and intelligent fan speed control.
Operating temperature range is very wide at -40 to +70C.
iMP Series power supplies meet all major worldwide safety, electrical, medical and EMC standards including EN60601.
They are also RoHS compliant.
