Tiny interface chip brings
USB and audio together
Single-chip devices support USB 1.1, USB 2.0 Full Speed, USB 2.0 High Speed and high fidelity audio signals, all in tiny 3.5 x 1.5mm TDFN packaging
Pericom Semiconductor has launched two single-chip solutions that support USB 1.1, USB 2.0 Full Speed, USB 2.0 High Speed and high fidelity audio signals, captured on tiny 3.5 x 1.5mm TDFN packaging. The devices are ideal for handheld applications including mobile phones and MP3 players. The PI3USB411 is used for switching two audio signals (right and left) or USB data through a single socket, while the PI3USB412 is used for switching two audio signals (R and L) from two different sources, or USB data through a single socket.

The devices feature USB 1.1, USB 2.0 Full Speed and USB 2.0 High Speed support, high bandwidth (above 600MHz for USB channels), sub1ohm on-resistance (0.5ohm typical) for audio channels, as well as significant off-isolation and crosstalk for all channels.
